Megawatt-Scale Wind Energy Storage System (ESS)
Summary
These large scale lithium-ion batteries capture surplus wind energy (or really any surplus energy) and store it for times when demand is higher, or production is lower. It helps stabilize production volatility in regions like the Faroe Island where the grid is independent and blackouts are more common.
